I am not suggesting that you stay away from your local church but I believe on-line church give us an opportunity to learn more and engage with other believers around the world.

Why is church important?  First, the word church in Greek is eccliciastes, the called out ones.  The church is a community of people called out, or away from the culture to follow Jesus.  At church, we learn, we worship God and we have fellowship with other believers.  

In a very divided world, its important that we are part of a like-minded community, that teaches Jesus, teaches the works of the Holy Spirit, has a biblical worldview, and follows the great the Great Commission to go onto all the world and make disciples, Mathew 28:1618
